除了案件之中的故事以外，案件和案件之間也有著壹定程度的聯系，也就是遊戲的主線故事，大部分的案件發生都和主線的故事有所關聯。第壹代發行的時候CAPCOM並沒有發行續集的打算，因此第壹代最後壹個案件就把所有伏筆收起。但《逆轉裁判》的巨大成功讓CAPCOM不得不推出續集，而他們仍能夠把壹個完結了的故事成功地擴展到壹個三部曲的宏大劇本。可見《逆轉》系列的編劇技術之強。
